A redundant architecture doesn't stop the primary line from failing: it stops that failure from halting the company. This is the conceptual outline; the exact architecture depends on each project, on the communications equipment and on the applications that must stay operational.

    Router / firewall

    The communications equipment continuously monitors the availability of the primary line.

    Automatic failover

    When it detects an outage against the configured criteria, it switches traffic to the secondary route.

    Restoration

    Once the fibre recovers, the architecture can return to the primary route in a controlled way.

What type of fibre can my company get?
It depends on the coverage available at the site and on what the business needs. FTTH covers most offices well with an efficient cost/performance ratio; business fibre adds terms and support geared to companies; and dedicated fibre provides reserved capacity and more control for critical environments. The specific terms depend on the carrier or provider and on the feasibility study for each address.
Can you manage a line even if the infrastructure belongs to another carrier?
Yes. Depending on the service and the agreed contract, we act as technical contact and coordinator: we raise and track the incident, provide the diagnosis from your network and keep you informed. Work on the carrier's own network remains the carrier's responsibility.
What happens if the fibre goes down?
If a redundant architecture has been designed, the communications equipment can switch automatically to the configured secondary connection and work continues over that route. When the primary line is restored, the architecture can return to normal operation. Without a second route, the outage means no service until the carrier resolves it.
Can Starlink be used as a fibre backup?
Yes. Starlink can be considered as a secondary link independent of terrestrial infrastructure, which is valuable precisely because it does not share the same physical route as the fibre. Its suitability depends on the site, the bandwidth required and the applications that must keep running during the contingency.
Can Starlink be the primary connection?
Yes, where technical conditions and the location make it appropriate, especially at sites with no fibre: rural environments, farms and estates, construction sites, temporary facilities or remote locations.
Which is better: a second fibre or Starlink?
It depends on how independent the routes really are. A second fibre sharing ducting with the first offers less protection than it appears; a satellite link is independent of terrestrial infrastructure but has different characteristics. We weigh coverage, criticality, bandwidth and budget before recommending either.
Do you install radio links?
Yes, where they are technically appropriate for the project: sites with no viable fibre, interconnection between nearby locations, or as a second route within a redundant architecture.
Do you monitor the connection?
Connectivity monitoring is included when it forms part of the contracted service, for example within a managed service or the device and systems monitoring service. We set it out in writing in the proposal so the scope of what is monitored is clear.
Is Seintec a telecommunications carrier?
Seintec does not present itself as a telecommunications carrier. Our value lies in designing, coordinating, integrating and technically managing business connectivity: we study the requirement, select the right technology and provider, supervise the installation, integrate it with your IT infrastructure and act as your contact when an incident occurs.
