Fortinet announces security updates: what to check ahead of the technical bulletins
INCIBE reports a preliminary announcement of Fortinet updates for firewalls, management, email and authentication. Technical details were pending: organisations should take stock and prepare changes without inventing impacts.

News summary
The INCIBE-CERT advisory published on 23 October includes FortiOS, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiMail and FortiAuthenticator, as well as cloud products. This is a preliminary announcement: the technical bulletins are expected on 10 November 2026, and CVEs, scores and specific impacts were awaiting publication.
For FortiOS, INCIBE lists fixed versions 8.0.2, 7.6.8, 7.4.13 and 7.2.14, depending on the installed branch. These references must not be applied to other products. In a business, security devices can support remote access, email and connectivity: preparing the change requires knowing which device and version provides each service. The preliminary advisory does not justify claims of active exploitation.

What to check in your business
Consult the product-specific matrix and current documentation before installing. Export the configuration and check compatibility and rollback options.
While preparing maintenance, restrict administration to trusted networks or addresses and review MFA. The management console should not be exposed without an operational need.
