In an emergency intervention we work on two fronts at once: containing the incident so it stops spreading, and opening a route to restore the service — which does not always start with repairing the failed equipment.

Urgent server recovery
Most serious outages have no single obvious cause. Before touching anything, it must be established whether the failure comes from hardware, storage, the operating system, the virtualisation layer, the network or a specific service. That diagnosis fully determines the recovery strategy and the time it will take.

Possible recovery routes

Component replacement, boot repair or system repair where the hardware and data allow it and this is the fastest route.

Verification of the available restore point and recovery of the server or its data onto healthy hardware.
C · Recover the virtual machine
Recovery of the full VM or its disks from the backup repository or from surviving storage.
D · Rebuild the services
Standing the affected role back up (domain, file services, database, RDS) and reintroducing the recoverable data.
E · Temporary migration to cloud
Publishing the service on our cloud infrastructure so the company can work again while the original environment is resolved.

Replacement server, temporary storage or interim remote access until the definitive solution is in place.
Are your servers or files encrypted?
A ransomware incident is both an operational outage and a security incident. The first decisions determine what will still be recoverable later, so the order of work matters as much as the speed.
In the first hours our aim is to contain the incident, understand its scope and establish which backups, systems and data remain usable so a realistic recovery can be planned.

If you suspect ransomware, avoid rebooting, formatting or otherwise handling the affected systems before the incident has been analysed. Do not restore onto the compromised environment before the state of the backups has been reviewed.
Not every ransomware incident allows data to be recovered: it depends on the encryption used, the scope and the state of the backups. We do not recommend paying ransoms and we do not guarantee full data recovery.
Backup and data recovery
A backup is only worth as much as its last successful restore. During an emergency we establish which restore points actually exist, whether they are consistent, and the fastest route to get the data back into production.

Our own datacenter: infrastructure when you need it most
Seintec runs its own datacenter in Sant Miquel de Balenyà, in the Osona region (province of Barcelona), and operates its cloud infrastructure from there. In an emergency that is not a catalogue feature: it is the difference between depending on a third party's schedule and being able to decide immediately how to build the contingency.
Running our own infrastructure means we can bring together technical resources and compute capacity to design contingency solutions without depending exclusively on third parties. It also means you can arrange a visit and see where your infrastructure will run.
