Sector Accounting & Tax Advisory Firms
Tax deadlines don't wait for your IT.
How we work here
Technology at the service of your operations
An advisory firm handles the tax, payroll and accounting information of dozens or hundreds of clients, against deadlines that cannot be postponed because a server failed. We design and manage the firm's infrastructure — business applications, documents, email and workstations — so everything is available when filings, closings or payroll are due, combining cloud, backup, cybersecurity and support under a single team.
Common challenges
- Tax, accounting and payroll applications that must stay available during closings and filing seasons
- Thousands of confidential client files and documents that must be protected and recoverable
- Users working from the office, from home or across several branches
- Phishing, ransomware and credential theft aimed at firms that handle financial information
Our response
Four areas we address in this sector
Your business software, always available
Cloud infrastructure prepared to host business management applications compatible with Windows Server environments: tax, payroll, accounting and document management. Your team reaches the same environment from anywhere, without depending on the server sitting under a desk. We first assess each application's technical requirements, database, peripherals and communications.
Data you can actually recover when it matters
A firm concentrates accounting, payroll, invoicing, case files and databases for many clients at once, so a single loss affects everything simultaneously. Managed backups with defined retention, an off-site copy, monitoring of every job and restore testing. Making copies is not enough: you need to know they can be recovered.
Protection against ransomware, phishing and credential theft
Firms are an attractive target because they concentrate financial information, documents, credentials, email and access to public platforms. We work in layers: endpoint protection, email filtering, multi-factor authentication, access control, segmentation, monitoring and backups ready for recovery. No measure removes risk entirely; the goal is to reduce it and be able to get back to work.
A technical team when your firm needs one
Preventive maintenance, user support, servers, Microsoft 365, printers, network, VPN, employee onboarding and offboarding, and day-to-day incidents, with continuous monitoring. IT should not consume an adviser's working hours.
Cloud for professional services firms
Your firm in the cloud, without depending on the office server
The usual setup is a physical server in the office with applications installed locally, local user accounts, a VPN for remote work and hardware maintenance that grows year after year. The alternative is managed cloud infrastructure in our datacenter, with centralised applications, remote access, backup, monitoring and security as part of the same service. Cloud is not always better: we assess each case and can keep on-premises, cloud or a hybrid model.
- Prior inventory of applications, databases, users and peripherals
- Phased migration, with testing and a rollback plan
- Coordination with the software vendor when the manufacturer requires it
- On-premises, cloud or hybrid, whichever genuinely suits the firm
Virtual desktop
The same desktop from the office, from home or from any branch
With a virtual desktop each user signs in to a centralised environment holding their applications, documents, email and corporate resources, under the same security policies wherever they connect from. It simplifies remote work, branch offices and seasonal hiring, and reduces the maintenance of every individual machine.
- Profiles and permissions per user and per practice area
- Multi-factor authentication on remote access
- Printing and peripherals as far as each architecture allows
- Onboarding and offboarding in minutes, without touching every computer
Peak workloads
During filing season, performance stops being negotiable
Monthly and quarterly closings, tax filings, payroll runs and the annual income tax campaign concentrate the heaviest workload of the year into a few days. Properly sized infrastructure has to respond then too: we measure actual consumption, adjust capacity before the peak and watch servers, databases and access while it lasts. We do not guarantee specific processing times, as they also depend on the application and its vendor.
- Capacity review ahead of critical periods
- Monitoring of servers, network and applications during the campaign
- Scalable resources in our datacenter when the load demands it
- Prioritised support on the agreed deadline dates
Email and Microsoft 365
Email is part of the firm's security too
Most fraud attempts arrive by email: impersonation of a client or a partner, altered invoices, compromised credentials and malware in attachments. We manage Microsoft 365, antispam filtering, multi-factor authentication and Microsoft 365 backup, because a mailbox recycle bin is not a backup.
- Email filtering and protection against impersonation
- Multi-factor authentication and access review in Microsoft 365
- Independent copy of email, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams
- Alerting and response when access looks suspicious
Access, digital certificates and data protection
Who gets in, what they reach and what happens when someone leaves
Digital certificates, credentials and platform access are effectively the keys to the firm. We neither hold certificates in custody nor provide legal advice: we implement the technical measures that help protect information and support the organisation's security obligations, and we document who has access to what.
- Permissions by profile and least privilege over folders and applications
- Multi-factor authentication wherever the platform supports it
- Onboarding and offboarding procedure, with access revocation
- Technical access logs and evidence for your data protection officer
A single point of contact
The firm's entire technology stack, with one team accountable
You do not need an in-house IT department to run professional infrastructure: we can act as the firm's external technology team. And if you already have a systems manager, we work as a specialist extension for cloud, infrastructure, backup, cybersecurity and datacenter.
- Workstations and users
- Network, connectivity and remote access
- Microsoft 365 and email
- Business applications and cloud servers
- Backup, continuity and cybersecurity
- Monitoring and ongoing support

Frequently Asked Questions
Common industry FAQs
Can we move our practice management software to the cloud?
In many cases yes. We first assess the application's technical requirements, the number of users, the database, peripherals and communications, and confirm licensing and support conditions with the software vendor or its partner. We do not promise universal compatibility: it is verified first.
Can we work from home with the same applications as in the office?
Yes. Through a virtual desktop or secure remote access, each user enters the same working environment with multi-factor authentication and the same security policies as on site.
What happens if the server fails during filing season?
It depends on the architecture and the contracted plan. We design the level of backup, recovery and continuity according to how critical each system is, and agree in writing which recovery times are targeted before the season starts.
Is a NAS in the office enough as a backup?
It helps, but it is not enough. A fire, a theft or ransomware can hit the server and the connected NAS at the same time. That is why we add an off-site copy, with retention, encryption and restore testing.
How do you protect an advisory firm against ransomware?
With several layers: endpoint protection, email filtering, access control and multi-factor authentication, segmentation, continuous monitoring and backups ready to restore. No serious provider can guarantee absolute protection; the work is about reducing risk and being able to resume operations.
Can you take over IT if we currently have another provider?
Yes. We start with an infrastructure review, document what is in place, agree a phased transition plan and set a change window so the firm keeps working.
Do you work with firms that have several offices?
Yes. We centralise applications and documents, connect the sites over VPN or dedicated lines and apply the same user management, security and backup policies across all of them.
Does Seintec sell tax software?
No. Seintec focuses on technology infrastructure: cloud, systems, support, continuity and cybersecurity. If the application belongs to an external vendor, its licensing and functional support depend on that vendor or its partner; we coordinate with them.
