NASaaS: managed business storage in a data centre

A dedicated NAS for your business, hosted in a Seintec data centre. One monthly fee includes the device, required hardware, installation, backups and technical support.

  • One monthly fee
  • Storage separate from the main server
  • Flexible placement
  • Less hardware to manage yourself

What is NASaaS, and when does it make sense?

NASaaS (NAS as a Service) combines dedicated NAS storage with hosting in a Seintec data centre. It lets you keep selected data separate from your main server without having to buy and host the equipment yourself. We size the solution around your data volume, usage, performance, access and protection requirements.

Location

Place your data where it fits your architecture

Same data centre

Your main server and NAS can both be hosted in Sant Miquel de Balenyà. The storage is separate from the main server, although both systems remain at the same physical site.

Different data centres

Your main server can be in Sant Miquel de Balenyà and the NAS in Seintec’s Andorra data centre, or the other way around. This separates the sites; we validate the required connectivity and performance before defining the architecture.

Use cases

What businesses use it for

  • Keeping files and data separate from the server running business applications.
  • Centralising storage for teams, users or multiple sites.
  • Keeping selected data on a dedicated NAS system.
  • Choosing whether the NAS should share a data centre with the main server or be hosted elsewhere.

Benefits

What you gain with NASaaS

One monthly fee

device, required hardware, installation, backups and support in one service.

Storage separate from the main server

a dedicated layer for the agreed data.

Flexible placement

one data centre or separation between Sant Miquel de Balenyà and Andorra, subject to design validation.

Less hardware to manage yourself

Seintec installs the equipment and provides the support included in the service.

What’s included

What the service includes

  • NAS device and the hardware required for the agreed configuration.
  • Hosting at the selected data centre.
  • Installation and initial configuration.
  • Managed backups for the data within the agreed scope.
  • Technical support as defined in the service scope.

Implementation

How we set it up

1. Sizing

we review data volume, users, growth and performance needs.

2. Location design

we decide whether the NAS should be hosted in Sant Miquel de Balenyà or Andorra and validate the required connectivity.

3. Installation

we supply and install the NAS and agreed hardware, then define access and configuration.

4. Backups and support

we document the included backup policy and support scope.

Scope

What we define in the proposal

Every business has different needs. The proposal specifies capacity, storage configuration, location, access, connectivity and backup policy, including frequency, retention and destination. It also sets out the support scope and recovery conditions. Disk redundancy, if included, does not replace a backup.

FAQs

Does the monthly fee include the NAS?

Yes. The service fee includes the NAS device, required hardware, installation, backups and technical support, as set out in the proposal.

Where can the NAS be hosted?

In Seintec’s data centre in Sant Miquel de Balenyà or Seintec’s data centre in Andorra, depending on your needs and agreed architecture.

Can my main server be in Sant Miquel de Balenyà and the NAS in Andorra?

Yes, that is one possible configuration. Before defining it, we validate connectivity, latency, data volume and intended use.

Does the NAS replace a backup?

No. The NAS is storage. The service includes backups for the agreed data, under a policy defined for each project. Disk redundancy does not replace those backups.

Does storing data at another site guarantee greater privacy?

A different site adds physical separation between systems, but privacy also depends on access controls, communications, encryption and data management. These are defined for each architecture.
