What is a Cloud PBX?

A cloud PBX (or hosted PBX) is a business phone system that is hosted in the cloud. It operates over the internet (VoIP) and replaces traditional, on-premise PBX hardware, removing the need for costly equipment in your office. It provides advanced call management features to professionalise communication with clients and suppliers.

It unifies communications across the entire company, including multiple sites and remote-working employees. Users can make and receive calls from desk phones, computers or a mobile app, always using the company's phone number and sharing the same configuration for extensions, queues and call routing rules.

Service Model

A Managed Service with a Clear Model

We provide a transparent service model where Seintec handles the technical side, so you can focus on your business.

Seintec: Setup and Support

We handle the initial platform setup, ongoing maintenance and technical support. We manage your requests to create extensions, adjust schedules, configure call forwarding or resolve any issues.

Client: Defining Requirements

The client defines how their system should work: which announcements to use, how to organise ring groups, what call routing to apply, and who the users are. We then implement it.

Carrier: Numbering and Connectivity

Telephone numbers (landlines and number porting) are provided by a telecoms carrier. Seintec advises and coordinates with the carrier but does not supply the lines themselves.

Our Difference

Hosted in Our Own Data Centre with Direct Access to Our Technical Team

Unlike other providers, we control the infrastructure where your PBX is hosted and give you direct access to our technical team—a single point of contact with over 15 years of experience.

Our Own Infrastructure in Osona

Your cloud PBX is hosted in our data centre in Sant Miquel de Balenyà (Barcelona). As we own the infrastructure, we directly manage the performance, security, and availability of the service, with no reliance on third parties. In 2025, our service SLA is 99.98%.

A Single Technical Point of Contact

From initial setup to daily support, you will always deal directly with the Seintec technical team. With no subcontractors or intermediate support tiers, we offer streamlined communication and faster resolutions. In 2025, our average ticket resolution time was 7 minutes.

Scope of Service

What Is Not Included in the Cloud PBX Service

For the sake of transparency, it is important to clarify which elements fall outside the standard managed service and are the responsibility of other parties.

  • Telephone numbering, which must be provided by a telecoms carrier.
  • The internet connection at your offices or for remote users. Its quality and stability are critical for the service to work.
  • Telephone hardware (IP phones, headsets), which are quoted for separately as required.
  • The internal network cabling within the client's offices.
  • Legal responsibility for the use of call recording, which lies with the client.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cloud PBX

Can I keep my current phone numbers?

Yes. We coordinate with your chosen carrier to port your existing business numbers to the new platform, so you can keep them throughout the process.

What happens if my office loses its internet connection?

The PBX itself continues to run in our data centre. We can configure automatic call forwarding to mobile numbers so you don't miss any important calls while your connection is being restored.

Can I use my mobile phone as an office extension?

Yes, by using a softphone app, you can make and receive calls on your mobile as if you were at your desk, displaying the company's number and accessing all the PBX features.

Who is responsible for recording the auto attendant (IVR) announcements?

The client provides us with the audio files for the desired announcements. If required, we can recommend professional recording studios, but the production of the audio files is not included in the service.

The service allows for call recording. What do I need to consider?

The technical platform makes it possible to enable call recording. However, the decision to activate it and how it is used is the client's responsibility. The client must comply at all times with data protection regulations (GDPR) and other applicable laws, such as the duty to inform parties that the call is being recorded.

What kind of support do you offer?

We offer technical support from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, for configuration changes and queries. For critical service-affecting incidents, a 24/7 emergency phone number is available. Response times are defined in your service agreement.
