Connectivity & Communications

Business IP Telephony: Modernise Your Communications

We plan and execute the migration from your analogue or ISDN lines to a Voice over IP (VoIP) system, configuring your network to ensure call quality and reliability.

  • Migration from ISDN/Analogue
  • Configured Voice Quality (QoS)
  • Unified Communications
  • Multi-Site Connectivity

What is Business IP Telephony?

IP telephony, or Voice over IP (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make and receive phone calls over an internet connection, instead of using traditional analogue or ISDN lines. This system replaces legacy infrastructure with a digital solution that integrates with your company's data network.

For a business, migrating to IP telephony means gaining flexibility, scalability, and enhanced features. It enables unified communications across different sites, facilitates remote working with softphones on computers and mobiles, and provides access to advanced call management options. Seintec designs, implements, and configures the entire technical solution to ensure a smooth transition and optimal voice quality.

A Tailored Solution

For Businesses Looking to Modernise Their Telephony

Our IP telephony service is designed for organisations that need to overcome the limitations of traditional systems and adapt their communications to a flexible, distributed working environment.

  • Companies with analogue or ISDN PBX systems that are facing end-of-life or end-of-support.
  • Organisations with multiple sites that need to unify their phone system and enable free internal calls.
  • Businesses wanting to integrate telephony into their employees' computers and mobiles to support mobility and remote working.
  • Growing companies that require a scalable phone system that can easily adapt to new users or sites.

We approach IP telephony implementation as an end-to-end technology project, covering everything from the network infrastructure to the user's handset.

Lines & Numbering

  • Advice on selecting and procuring SIP trunks.
  • Coordination of porting your existing landline numbers.
  • Management of new geographic numbering with the provider.

Equipment & Access

  • Supply and configuration of desktop IP and DECT handsets.
  • Implementation of desktop softphones and mobile apps.
  • Configuration of access for remote and mobile users.

Network & Quality of Service

  • Analysis and optimisation of your company's Local Area Network (LAN).
  • Implementation of Quality of Service (QoS) and voice VLANs.
  • Configuration of secure connectivity between sites.

Clearly Defined Roles

Everyone's Role in the Project

For a successful migration, it is crucial to clearly define the responsibilities of each party involved.

Seintec: Your Technology Partner

We handle the solution design, equipment implementation, advanced network configuration to prioritise voice traffic (QoS), and ongoing technical support. We act as your single point of contact for all technical aspects of the project.

The Telecoms Provider

This is the company that provides the lines (SIP trunk), call services, manages number porting, and assigns numbering. While we are not a provider ourselves, we advise you on your choice and coordinate with them on your behalf.

Your Company

The client is involved in defining requirements (users, extensions, features) and provides access to the premises. You are responsible for arranging the internet connection and the line service with the provider.

What Sets Us Apart

A Single Technical Partner with Over 15 Years' Experience

Our value isn't in reselling a platform, but in our team's ability to robustly integrate IP telephony into your company's network infrastructure. With over 15 years' experience in systems and networking, we design reliable solutions and ensure your local network is perfectly tuned to prioritise voice traffic, preventing dropouts and poor audio quality.

Because we have our own in-house technical team, with no middlemen, you have a single point of contact who understands your environment from end to end—from connectivity to the user's handset. This holistic view speeds up the resolution of any issues. Our agility is reflected in our service targets: by 2025, we aim to handle over 8,500 support requests with an average ticket resolution time of 7 minutes.

Scope of Service

What Our Integration Service Doesn't Directly Include

To provide a transparent proposal, it's important to clarify which elements are the responsibility of the client or third parties:

  • **Line and Call Service:** We are not a telecoms provider. SIP trunks and call charges are contracted directly with a provider.
  • **Internet Connection:** IP telephony relies on a quality, high-bandwidth internet connection, which the client is responsible for sourcing and funding.
  • **Brand-Specific Hardware:** We advise on compatible handsets but are not tied to any single manufacturer. The hardware can be procured through Seintec or directly by the client.
  • **Hosted PBX Service:** This service focuses on integrating an on-premise IP telephony system. If you are looking for a 100% cloud-hosted and managed PBX solution, please see our Hosted PBX service.

Our Implementation Process

  1. 01

    1. Audit & Design

We analyse your current infrastructure, communication needs, and network health. Based on this, we design a bespoke solution that defines the required architecture, equipment, and network configuration.

  2. 02

    2. Coordination & Deployment

We coordinate with your chosen provider for number porting and SIP trunk activation. At the same time, we deploy and configure the IP handsets and softphones on your premises.

  3. 03

    3. Network Optimisation

We implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies and voice VLANs on your local network equipment. This ensures calls always have the highest priority and quality, even when the network is under heavy load.

  4. 04

    4. Go-Live & Support

We provide user training on how to use the new systems. Once the system's performance is validated, we activate our support service to resolve future queries and incidents as per our agreed terms.

Frequently Asked Questions about IP Telephony

Can I keep my current phone numbers?

Yes. We manage the porting process with the telecoms provider so that you can keep all your existing landline numbers when you migrate to the Voice over IP system.

What happens if our internet connection goes down?

Without internet, calls via the main SIP trunk will not work. As part of the solution design, we can include contingency plans, such as backup lines or automatic call forwarding to mobiles, to minimise disruption.

Do I need to replace all the cabling in my office?

Not necessarily. IP telephony runs on standard network cabling (Category 5e or higher). As part of our initial analysis, we will review your current network and advise if any upgrades are needed to ensure optimal performance.

Is the call quality as good as or better than a traditional line?

Yes, provided the network is configured correctly. A key part of our work is implementing Quality of Service (QoS), a technique that prioritises voice traffic over other data to ensure clear, stable calls.

Is Seintec a provider like BT or Vodafone?

No, we are a technology integrator. Our role is to design and implement the technical solution within your business. The line and call service is contracted with a telecoms provider, for which we offer our expert advice.

How does it work for remote employees?

Remote employees can use a softphone (a program on their computer or an app on their mobile) to make and receive calls with their office extension number, just as if they were physically at their desk, using any internet connection.
